Welcome to the West Bridgford Infant School Website

Welcome to Class 6

Year 2

In Year 2 we have been investigating answering questions in Science.  We have been finding out about growth in animals and how we can be healthy. We have investigated electricity and how to make simple circuits.

We have visited St Giles Church to find out about the Christian Faith and found out more about Divali, Eid, Hannukah and Christmas.

In P.E. we have worked on our balances on the apparatus, and practised skills for taking off and landing safely.  We have learnt skills for making our own games sending and receiving bean bags, balls and quoits.

All our work on famous people has really interested us.  The work we have done at home about artists gave everyone lots of information.

We have got our recorders and we are really eager to learn and we really enjoyed performing our Autumn Festival songs to all the parents at St. Giles Church.

Our visit to Wollaton Hall was great fun; we found out about the bones in animals and even got to hold some of them!

As part of Black History month, Olivia’s mum came into school and talked to us about Rosa Parks.

We made a bus in the classroom and acted out the story.  Thank you Emma! Thanks also to Olivia who played the part of Rosa Parks and thanks to Noah who helped drive the bus.

Jaypals mum came into school and talked to us about how Sikh’s celebrate Diwali.  She made some delicious food which we shared. We made a giant Rangoli pattern on the floor of our classroom.  Thank you Tejinder!

We had a fantastic day out in Wollaton Park .  We all had lots of fun playing in the leaves.  Thank you very much to Helen (George’s mum) for joining us.
